02:30 am - New Website Open Now
Imagine, if you will, an alternate universe where the characters of Doctor Who and Torchwood are cats. The Doctor is a cat, Captain Jack is a cat and all of the Children of Time are cats. It would be a feline time-line… and that is exactly what our new website site is about.

11:35 pm - Busing it..
For the first time in I don't know how many years, I took the bus to work this morning. I admit to feelings of guilt every time I drove my car to work, but the convenience just was too easy...until it hit me in the wallet. I decided I couldn't justify paying $13 a day for parking when the bus costs just $5 round trip, so I took the bus today. Left my apartment at 6:45, caught the bus at 6:48, made the transfer to the next bus at 7:05 and was at the hospital at 7:20. It got crowded towards downtown, but because I got on early, I had a seat. I thought, hey, this is easy! Coming home took a bit longer because my connecting bus wasn't quite on time..but I was still home just as early as I would have been if I'd driven. I'm rather impressed, and feeling very green..in an environmentally friendly kind of way. ;P
Guess I'll be doing the bus thing more often from now on.

I looked after my lovely gentleman from yesterday again, and he was just as delightful. His wife joked that she was going to have trouble when he got home because we'd spoiled him with our good care. He's working very hard to get stronger, because he's determined to be well enough to dance on their second anniversary in May. Awwww.

I was especially glad to have him as my patient, because across the room was the patient with the family from hell. My tongue is sore from biting it all day, and the nurse looking after her showed a lot more restraint than I would have. They are confrontational, abusive and just plain nuts. Their mother is dying, and should have been allowed to die days ago; she's never going to get better, and she looks like that painting The Silent Scream, but they insist that we hold all pain medication because it might stop her from waking up (it won't). I almost told the son that perhaps he'd like to see what it feels like to lie in a bed (all swollen and leaking body fluids) attached to a ventilator and then say no she doesn't need pain meds. It just infuriates me to look at that poor woman and feel that we are not doing the right thing for her. It's a very sad situation, made worse because the family is very wealthy and used to being able to buy their way out of difficulties..but money can't heal this poor woman. It's no longer about her, it's about them. Makes me want to smack them so hard. Grrrr. Good thing I wasn't her nurse today, I might have got myself into a bit of trouble. They have lawyers, and they're not afraid to use them.

Thank heavens for my nice, normal gentleman and his lovely sensible wife. They reminded me that what I'm doing has meaning and purpose.

Anyway, it's over for another week; I don't go back until next week, by which time I'm sure things will have sorted themselves out.

11:22 pm - picture of david getting fanboy-ish with Davros?
there is a picture I've seen floating around before of David posing with Davros and he has the most geeky, nerdy, fanboy-excited expression on his face. I can't seem to find it anywhere though....

anyone?

01:54 am - Water Bucket Cozy
I need to throw out a product recommendation: Wild Angel Cozy. It's a cozy that goes around your water bucket and helps keep them from freezing in cold weather. I bought only one for Cracker to check it out to see if it worked; I ordered two more for Fritz. Fritz's buckets have been completely frozen solid (ugh, I hate beating water buckets). The same day, Cracker's water bucket only had a slight ice film that was easily broken up when I touched it. It was -10*F outside, but about 16*F in the barn. It's recommended that it emptied twice a day and filled with warm water. I only empty it once a day when I do the stalls and then fill it with warm water. It's fantastic and I'm sure it would work in colder weather if emptied twice a day and filled with warm water. I feel bad for Fritz while I wait for the other cozy to come for him since he drinks more after I fill his bucket with warm water. I don't know if anyone else has tried them, but they are working for us in southwestern OH. I think it's a good alternative to heated water buckets and a heck of a lot cheaper than thermal buckets. I hope that if someone else gives these a try, they have as great of an experience as I'm having.

I come bringing fan art and a question. The question is not related to the art, but both are related to The End of Time. So, spoilers for that:

06:41 am - Series five stuffs
DWM has confirmed the writers for series five. Moffat's doing six, Chibnall's doing two, with one each from old friends Mark Gatiss, Gareth Roberts and the marvellous Toby Whithouse (as well as four episodes for the new series of Being Human!). Richard Curtis has done one, as we know, and as was rumoured in the Mail on Sunday, we're getting one from Simon Nye (best known for Men Behaving Badly, best forgotten for Hardware).

The indefatigable Scooty has pictures of Matt and Karen filming, and here's a bonus video:

The Mirror brings us comments from Karen and Matt on her costume, and also Matt on Eleven, Amy and their relationship:

Title: These Are the Tesco Aisles of Our Lives
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Nine/Rose, Ten/Rose
Word Count: 2,581
SummaryYou know,” Rose says, quite out of the blue, “I’ve seen the TARDIS grow entire rooms. Rearrange my sock drawer by colour and fold my knickers into concentric triangles on laundry day." She just lets that sentence hang there in the middle of the dairy aisle, suspended in front of the pints of cream and yogurt, and watches him like he should be able to pick off where that thread of thought ends.

"And your point is?” he asks, a corner of his lips quirking upwards.

Okay everyone, just a quick question to somewhat ease my insanity...

Does anyone know when the End of Time episodes are airing in Australia? I know I can watch them online (because I did that for the other 3 specials last year) but I promised a friend I wouldn't do that this time and would watch it with her on television... but it's driving me mad, this waiting! The suspense! I'm trying really hard to stay away from spoilers and such...

But anyway, if anyone knows the date they'll be airing over here, I'd be much obliged!

09:54 pm - pic request
This is driving me nuts. I've been through the Sonic Biro site, the David Tennant site, my own DVD collection - but I can't find the image that's in my head.

He's standing, back to the camera, or perhaps walking away from the camera. His coat's on, it's not a steeply angled shot but a fairly straight-on shot from behind.

Anyone know where I could find a pic like this? It needs to be hi-rse, too - I've got plans for it.

Thanks!

I was watching Jeopardy (an American quiz show) on Tuesday evening with my dad, and I was highly amused to see this clue:

"Matt Smith is the latest actor to be this sci-fi "Dr.", previously played by Peter Davison & Tom Baker."

I got unnecessarily excited and my dad looked at me like I was crazy, heh.
