Watching Children of Earth reminded me of at least one reason I'm happy that RTD will no longer be the show runner for Doctor Who... There's only so many times that you can up the ante with ZOMG THE END OF THE WORLD!!11!1!!!!!! before it becomes pathetic and cliche since we all know that the world must be saved for the show to continue.
/sigh It's almost like every episode of Voyager season 1, "Will they make it home next week?" Of course not since that would mean the end of the show's premise.
Here's hoping for less ZOMG End of the World and a return to some suspense and mystery with more reasonable stuff to encounter or defeat.
